About our company

The idea for our company came to the two founders while they were still in college. They were on the lookout for a simple solution for the retrieval of lost items. Ideally, this solution would also be able to prevent the loss of items. This idea led to an intensive study of the subject. This was the foundation of PAJ. The goal that emerged was to protect everything that is important to you.

By pursuing, implementing and continuously developing the original idea, a brainwave has turned into a steady growing company: Today, we are a dealer, developer and consultant in the field of GPS tracking. We offer solutions for almost every application. The premises used for this purpose – from children’s rooms to apartments to large building complexes – also reflect our development. More than 40 employees are working on client requests and development ideas.

Our technological advancement

It all started with SMS tracking. This type of GPS tracking uses the mobile phone network to transmit location data. This means that a SIM card must be inserted into the device and the relevant phone number called in order to receive the GPS tracker’s current position data.

Later, the location could also be retrieved by text message. This could include additional information such as speed and battery level. The disadvantage of this type of tracking was that each call or text message incurred a separate cost, depending on the mobile phone tariff chosen. In addition, the locations were only transmitted selectively.

After a short time, we optimised this type of tracking for more user-friendly handling and published the PAJ Tracking portal in 2014 using a third-party provider. Here, current location data could be viewed and alarms managed directly via the portal.

However, one of the biggest problems with the PAJ tracking portal was the widely varying costs for users. Depending on the chosen mobile phone tariff and location, the costs for each SMS were sometimes high.

To counteract this problem, the company’s own FINDER portal was launched in 2018. By introducing online localisation and the integrated M2M SIM card in our GPS devices, the costs for each enquiry can be reduced and standardised. The new portal also makes it very easy to set up and manage our GPS devices.

This new type of GPS tracking, in combination with the additionally connected app, allows the user to call up the current position of their GPS tracker at any time and from anywhere in the world, analyse routes travelled and set alarms.

In 2019, we discontinued the sale of GPS devices with SMS localisation due to falling demand and technological developments. The advantages of online tracking outweighed the disadvantages, as unlike SMS tracking, there are no costs for individual location queries. Furthermore, thanks to the SIM card we provide, we can also guarantee the functionality of our GPS trackers in up to 100 countries without any unexpected additional costs for our customers.
